Individual therapy is accessed though a secure telehealth platform or in-person at our office in Durango Colorado. We start with an initial 50-minute intake session where together we will create goals for treatment and have insight into the duration and frequency of care. Sessions following the intake are guided by goals we set and any current needs that arise.
Therapy sessions may include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)/Mindfulness Based CBT, Somatic Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Each of these therapy modalities are customized to you and your therapeutic needs. Psychoeducation also plays an important role during therapy sessions, particularly with teaching about the brain-body connection and how we use coping tools to self-regulate. Be ready to practice mindfulness and coping skills in session, and complete helpful assignments between meetings to maintain and strengthen the skills learned in therapy.
